Sun & Moon 12.6.2021
As the sun lowers, the sky is illuminated with an ever-flowing specturm of light.
As the spectrum of colors fades into the night, I surrender my sorrows, despite fright.
Looking up at the sky seeing the light of the moon as it approaches its peak, offers many lessons for reflection. Illuminating the darkness, the moon continues the cycles of lunation.

Why We Need Leo Energy
The Sun’s journey through its home sign of Leo takes place during the dead center of the summer season, when the days are longest and the temperature is hottest. While Cancer season is all about tending to our emotions, Leo takes us out of that watery and moonlit hibernation and drags us directly out into the sunshine without skipping a beat. This is a time to embrace the heat and intensity of midsummer energy. Soon the days will start getting shorter, and Leo wants you to show off who you are with confidence and zeal!
How We Can Work with the Energy of Leo Season
If you’re feeling shy about sharing your artwork or passion, putting yourself out there for a lover or job, or feeling stuck in the throes of imposter syndrome, ask yourself, “What would Leo do?”
Leo would primp up the best parts of themselves, and then shine, just like the Sun itself. Leos have confidence, but that doesn’t mean this signs energy isn’t also riddled with insecurities. The downside of having such a large ego is that its sheer size makes it a bit fragile at time, and needs twice the stroking and gassing up. The difference, though, is that at the end of the day, Leo energy knows what it is. It knows how strong, vital, bright, and important it is. So the next time you’re feeling less than confident about something, channel your inner Leo to rawr your way through and grab the spotlight that is rightfully yours.

Moon
What Are Lunations?
Lunation refers to either a new Moon or a full Moon, which happen about two weeks apart within each lunar cycle. The Moon’s energy is especially potent and powerful during these points in the monthly cycle, as they represent the Moon in its most extreme states of visibility: in full view (full Moon) or completely invisible (new Moon).
A new Moon typically occurs when the Moon is in a conjunction with the Sun (which means both luminaries are near the same spot in the zodiac). Visually, this is when the Moon has gone black and looks to have disappeared from the sky (which is why it’s also called a dark Moon). This marks the beginning of a brand-new lunar cycle — the Moon is beginning a new journey.
From there, the Moon waxes (or grows larger) for about two weeks until it becomes a full Moon. A full Moon typically takes place when the Moon is in opposition to the Sun (meaning that it is in the opposite sign). This is when the Moon’s face is fully lit and within fully visibility from the Earth. After the Moon reaches its peak fullness, it begins waning, growing smaller.
Personal Goals and the Lunar Cycle:
If your personal goal involves beginning something new or expanding something in your life, the new Moon is the moment where you begin. Your intention is born here, just as the new lunar cycle is born. This is the very first step and the laying out of the initial foundation. Now’s the time to clear the slate and create space for your new undertaking. Make room for your intention to breathe as you release it into The Universe.
This lunation marks the beginning of a new cycle, and the energy is full of growth potential. That said, its energy is highly fertile, and this is the time to plant energetic seeds. If you want to add something to your life, build upon something, grow something, or begin something, now is the point in the lunar cycle that you should state your intention and put it out into The Universe.
